This Sunday: Lent 4
This Sunday, March 14, is the Fourth Sunday in Lent. The Rev. Timothy Haut will preach at both the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services. At our 10 a.m. service, we will celebrate the Baptism of Logan John-Allen Nemeth, son of Kevin and Victoria (Layne) Nemeth of Deep River. The theme of this year's Lenten services is "Homeward Bound." The Scripture Readings for this Sunday include: Joshua 5:9-12; Psalm 32; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; and Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32. The Greeters at our 10 a.m. service this Sunday will be Ruth Woodcock and Kathy DeGrand. The Ushers will be Ed & Bobbie Hemmann, Carol Sheridan and Stella Beaudoin. Stephen Tucker will be our Lay Reader. The Senior Choir will host the Coffee Hour at 11.

Keeper of the Trees I would be the keeper of the trees. I would stride across the great fields and step gently into the forest paths calling the grandfathers by name and blessing the feathered choirs by listening. And I would find somewhere, on a windblown hill or at the edge of an abandoned garden a frail child of a tree, bent by a weathering world, forgotten, unsure yet if it will grow or die. And I would lay my hand upon her skin and say, "You are beautiful." And "You are stronger than you think." I would come back to give her a drink when she was thirsty. Mostly I would admire her, or sit softly in her summer shade. I would paint her picture, and put it on the wall where I sleep. In the bitter days of winter, I would tell her stories about spring so that she would not forget to send her roots down deep, so that she would not forget to hope. This way, we could be home for each other. This is what I would do if I could be the keeper of the trees. --Timothy Haut, March 7, 2010
HELP ME PACK FOR HAITI By Phyllis Haut I will be going to Haiti March 21 on a medical team. This team is affiliated with the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, DR and we have been working with them for the last two years. I have this remarkable opportunity to help relieve some of the medical team that has been working since the earthquake. They have exhausted their supplies and are in desperate need of certain items. Below is a list of items needed. Please help me pack to go and bring whatever you can and stuff the duffle bag in fellowship hall. Any monetary donation can be made directly to our church with Haiti in the memo line. Any money collected will be used to purchase medications and food. Continue to keep the people of Haiti in prayer and the workers who are doing the impossible day after day. Our medical clinics are seeing 400-500 people a day. gauze tape ace bandages ibuprofen/motrin/advil tylenol/adult/children antibacterial cream vitamins/adult/children benadryl
Thank you everyone who has contributed in some way, either with medical supplies, monetary donations, time, and all the love and support that are surrounding us as we make this trip. We are most appreciative!!! Thank you for you love, your prayers and your generosity.
