Mentor/Confirmand Luncheon
Sunday, May 5

Mentors please keep this date open for a luncheon with your Confirmand. We will meet directly after church for the luncheon, followed by the presentation of the Confirmands Faith Statements.  A few members of the Deacons will be joining us and then we will go into the church for a brief rehearsal for Confirmation Sunday. All Confirmands need to be present on this day.

Confirmation Sunday - May 19

Our Confirmands will be Confirmed on Pentecost Sunday, May 19 during the 10:00 am service. Family and friends are invited to attend. Confirmands along with their parents and mentors will be invited to the front of the church as those who are about to become members of our church kneel at the alter.

To Our Confirmands and Parents

All Confirmands should be at the church by 9:30 on May 19 to prepare for Confirmation.  Please bring your stole with you, if it is not already at the Church.  We also need your project and faith statement if that has not been turned in.

After the worship service, you will have the opportunity to greet the congregation as you will be part of the greeting line and then we will gather on the front steps of the church for a photo.

Preparing Your Faith Statement

Every Confirmand is asked to prepare a Faith Statement as a culminiation of their Confirmation experience. A Faith Statement is an expression of what faith means to you. This can be in the form of a poem, letter, painting, nature shadow box, family collage, song or dance. Past ideas have included meaningful Bible verses on a soccer ball, a creation of a dessert, a skating routine, photography and composing of lyrics.

We ask that you take time to plan and work on your Faith Statement so it is meaningful to you. Think of your hobbies or interests to get a starting point. Putting something together on the way to church on the morning it is due, will not give you the opportunity to work with your mentor on preparing this all important presentation.

You will have the opportunity to present your Faith Statement at the Confirmation luncheon and they will be on display for Confirmation Sunday.
